FFM volunteers are encouraged to take an active part in the lives of incarcerated or newly released juveniles.
We mentor students still held in incarceration through correspondence, additionally scheduled one on one visitations and regular Bible studies. An FFM volunteer can mentor a youth upon their release through many church and community programs such as “Big Brothers and Big Sisters”. Often troubled youth come from single parent families and a once a month planned activity with them can be extremely helpful. These mentoring opportunities offer needed additional layers of accountability, input into personal growth and opportunities for adult supervised high adventure. Mentoring can also be in the form of participation with students in vocational training or experience workshops.
